My goal is to show case the beautiful creation that is all around us every day. For most of us we are in such a hurry to get through the day and return home to spend some quality time with our families that we completely miss everything out side of our homes. That very frustration for me is what has moved me from long days in an office to a simpler life, enjoying nature.
My home is Florida. During my years in California while attending college I was constantly amazed at the landscapes. From the rolling hills in the north, the amazing cliffs on Hwy 1 and the rugged beauty of Death Valley. For me it was something I had never really noticed; nature. On a hiking trip with a great friend I realized that many of the people who were our neighbors also missed nature. Even though they live in such an amazingly beautiful place they completely missed it. I've done plenty of hiking but this trip was mostly up a small mountain road, we watched as the people went by us, they sped so fast up the mountain missing any glimpses of wildlife. It made us a little mad that they could live in such an amazing place and really only care for the curves on the road.
It wasn't until several years later my wife and I visited my old friend. One of our goals for the trip was to get out and see how fast we could get up that mountain. Such a great driving road! Only after returning back home to Florida I
My new goal in my art of photography was to slow down. Even leave my camera at home some days. Just get out and into the parks and forests here in central Florida. Maybe there is something to these old swamps. My new goal I call Discover Florida. After only a few months I began to truly see the world around me. There are so many beautiful forms here in Florida, so much detail, so many stories to tell.
I still love to visit California; but now, I am able to visit Florida.
