Spill Your Heart Out

On September 18th we attended the Heartland Cultural Alliance's (link) "Spill Your Heart Out" exhibition.

I created a new image for the show.  I wanted to create a passionate image full of life and color yet with a negative over-tone.  I found a place in our city that all of the drainage for the down town streets flows directly into Lake Jackson.  (I have since learned that this water is in fact, filtered, and not quite the horible situation as I first thought :)  This was immediately after a rain storm, in fact, there is still light rain falling.  The shot is composed of two images blended to create a high dynamic range image.

I called the image, "Look Away" and it won best of show!
